2026 FIFA World Cup Schedule

Complete 2026 FIFA World Cup Schedule Dates, Venues & Match Fixtures

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to be one of the most historic tournaments in soccer history, marking the first time the event will be jointly hosted by three countries – Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The 2026 FIFA World Cup schedule is set to kick off on June 11, 2026, with the final match taking place on July 19, 2026. This World Cup edition will also be the largest ever, expanding the field from 32 to 48 teams, which will bring a fresh dynamic to the competition and include broader global representation.

The tournament’s opening match will take place at Mexico City’s iconic Estadio Azteca, a legendary venue that has hosted two previous World Cup finals (1970 and 1986), making it the only stadium in the world to host the opening games of three World Cups. The final match is scheduled for July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, in the United States.

Matches will be played across 16 host cities, featuring the Best world-class stadiums across the three countries. Canada will host games in Toronto and Vancouver, Mexico will host matches in Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Zapopan, while the United States will see fixtures held in cities such as Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, San Francisco, Seattle, and others.

For the final round of the tournaments, all remaining 45 teams will qualify after the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification. The expanded format will include 12 groups of four teams during the group stage, followed by additional knockout rounds extending the competition to a total of 104 matches over 39 days. The event is expected to draw unprecedented global interest, with millions of fans looking forward to the intense competition and unique multicultural experience offered by the tri-nation hosting.

As preparations ramp up, renovations and upgrades are underway at many of the venues to ensure that they meet FIFA’s standards, including capacity increases and enhanced facilities.

Notably, corporate stadium names will be temporarily replaced by non-branded names for the duration of the tournament, such as “Toronto Stadium” for BMO Field and “Dallas Stadium” for AT&T Stadium, in adherence to FIFA’s marketing guidelines.

With host nations Canada, Mexico, and the United States automatically qualifying and numerous teams from around the world battling for the remaining spots, the 2026 FIFA World Cup promises to be a spectacular display of football talent, cultural celebration, and sporting passion.
